In his research, he draws on theoretical insights driven from the learning sciences and exemplary techniques from the fields of human-centred AI and crowdsourcing to build technological solutions that enhance student learning and experience. His past research and publications have addressed a number of diverse topics such as learning graphical models, statistical-relational learning, social network analysis, cybersecurity and game theory.

Dr. Jeroen Ooge is an assistant professor at Utrecht University. His research is situated in human-computer interaction, which investigates how people interact with technologies. Dr. Ooge is specialised in human-centred explainable artificial intelligence, which studies how outcomes of AI models can be explained to different audiences in different contexts; for example, teenagers in an educational context. He is interested in how transparency affects people's trust in AI models, how it supports people's decision-making, whether it improves people's understanding of AI models, etc. with particular focus on studying how data visualisation can help in this endeavour.

Christian Weber is a substitute professor at the chair for Medical Computer Science with the Focus on Mobile Health Information Systems and a postdoctoral researcher with the Institute of Knowledge-Based Systems and Knowledge Management (KBS & KM), University of Siegen, Germany. He is continuously researching the extension and exploitation of evolving, semantically enhanced knowledge maps for ongoing industrial, educational, and medical digitalization using AI and is active for that in national and international funded research projects (DFG, BMBF, H2020, Erasmus plus, and many more), industrial collaborations. Furthermore, he heads the intelligent infrastructure division of the interdisciplinary and inter-university research group “digital practice”, located within the faculty of life science at the University of Siegen, researching novel digital medicine and medical digitalization approaches and applications under the concept of international and medical data spaces with integrated mobile, digital twins. He heads funded research projects at the intersection of computer science, medicine, education, and manufacturing and carries the strong belief that any digital solution always needs a human factor.

Luca Longo is a computer scientist specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Argumentation Theory with research in Human performance modelling. He founded the World Conference on Explainable Artificial Intelligence and performs fundamental research in computational models of Cognitive Load. He is a public speaker disseminating technical knowledge to the wider public and contributing to the non-profit organization TED (conference) “ideas worth spreading”. Dr. Longo is also the recipient of the 2023 “AI Person of the Year” award and also the 2016 and 2021 winner of the Teaching Hero Award in Ireland.
